Mesa Scharf is the Chief Product Officer at Merit, where he leads the company’s product and technology strategy for grid-interactive control systems, SCADA, and platform services that power utility-scale renewable energy systems. Mesa brings more than 25 years of experience in energy technology development, spanning plant and inverter control, asset performance management, data platforms, and industrial automation.

Prior to Merit, Mesa held product and technical sales leadership roles at AlsoEnergy (acquired by Stem), where he played a central role in shaping edge SCADA and plant control offerings as well as driving SaaS revenue through asset performance management platform strategy and development. Earlier in his career, Mesa spent nearly a decade at Advanced Energy, where he led the development of inverter control systems and embedded software for some of the largest PV installations in North America, including projects funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and ARPA-E.

Mesa also held systems engineering roles at Serveron and IdaTech, where he contributed to transformer diagnostics and fuel cell development for utility and industrial markets. He holds five U.S. patents.
